Music Hath Charms:  The Psychic Track

Music is an important part of psychic, cultural and political life. Its ability to resonate with our deepest longings and most powerful impulses is impressive and, at times, surprising. Psychoanalyst Elizabeth Dorsey will present ideas and observations about this nearly universal impact and invite discussion from participants. Joining Ms. Dorsey is Hugh Keelan who will include some keyboard demonstrations and will ask insightful and provocative questions about the how and why of performance and response. What, for example, are we in reality responding to when we appreciate and enjoy (or indeed dislike) a performance?
