Work With Young Adults

Join us for our fifth Continuing Education event of Spring 2022. It will be held in a hybrid format, both in-person and online via Zoom. Registration deadline is Tuesday, June 21st at midnight. This is a free event. 1.5 CE/Clock hours are available for $25.
The passage from adolescence to young adulthood always presents significant challenges. These challenges are even more pronounced in the current era. This event addresses the important maturational steps young people face as they separate, try to leave home, explore careers and relationships and look for psychic grounding in a chaotic world.
Presenter: Juan B. Faraoni, III, M.A. LMHC, LPC received his Master’s degree from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis where he is currently a doctoral student. After several years working as the clinical supervisor of a methadone clinic, he is currently a college counselor and in private practice working with young adults.
Discussant: Lynn Perlman, Ph.D., Cert.Psya. is the Dean of Graduate Studies and is a training and supervising psychoanalyst at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis. She has over 40 years of experience studying and working with young adults.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- List challenges people face in passage from adolescent to young adulthood.
- Discuss significance of environmental variables especially in this current era.
- Define what is meant by psychic grounding and how it is manifested in the young adult. Discuss treatment methods to support this..
