Hyman Spotnitz, the founder of Modern Psychoanalysis, began studying the use of psychoanalysis with regressed patients, including those diagnosed as psychotic, in the 1930’s. Since then, countless clinicians have studied and applied his understanding and techniques. This event presents such work in community agencies and long-term care facilities.

Participants will be able to: 

1.  Identify components of a psychoanalytic diagnosis 
2. Explore key concepts central to a modern analytic understanding of regressed patients. 
3. Identify and discuss various interventions in modern psychoanalytic technique (such as commands, questions, mirroring, joining, contact function).
