Details:

How do we manage living our lives while so much seems to be threatening and uncertain around us? The pandemic and new variants, wars which could become nuclear, increasing polarization in the political and social spheres, climate change, shootings, etcetera.  Do we pay attention to all of this or is it too overwhelming? How do we manage to lead our lives, raise our children, do our work?  Should we be doing something? What?

This discussion-oriented workshop is a place for people to talk about how they are managing living with anxiety or keeping anxiety at bay–what helps, what might help?  How do individuals with different coping strategies manage in their family and friend relationships?  Is there a kind of “splitting” which we engage in in order to live our lives and even enjoy ourselves in the shadow of all of these threats?  To what extent does connecting with others in discussion of these anxieties help versus raise further anxiety? Does action help? What kind? With whom?
