The Addict’s Family: What Do We Do?

The addict’s recurrent, at times chaotic or dangerous behavior, arouses powerful impulses and feelings in family members. This event is for parents, partners, friends and clinicians, to discuss their reactions and possible decisions that they may be faced with in connection with the addict in their lives.
Objectives:
- The participant will be able to define/identify dangerous behaviors in family members or clients/patients.
- The participant will be able to distinguish between their own needs and the addict’s needs.
- The participant will be able to identify a constructive action that correlates with the problem.
Presenter:
Sherry Ceridan, Psya.D. is an adjunct faculty member at BGSP and former outpatient director of a substance abuse agency. She has over 30 years working in the addictions field and has a private practice in Brookline, MA.
