Gallery Talk: Seeing Through Walls
Wednesday June 7 |6-7:30 pm
Artists Thaer Abdallah, Adnane Benali, Phyllis Bluhm, Beverly Shalom, and Vivienne Shalom, a group of artists of diverse backgrounds, came together with a common desire to inspire dialogue and help promote peace, justice and equality. According to the artists, art is a universal language, a powerful means to communicate when words can’t say enough, when there is an impasse. By breaking down barriers and “seeing through walls” we can recognize our common humanity. Join us as we talk with four of the artists about the process of bringing their very different experiences together to collaborate on this ambitious project. Until recently the mural was hung at Boston City Hall and is now on exhibit at BGSP through March, 2018.
The Gallery Talk includes a wine and cheese reception and a tour of BGSP’s current exhibit, “Picture Social Justice and Human Rights.”
