Gohar Homayounpour

After completing her Master’s degree from BGSP in 2002 and her doctoral degree from VGSP, a branch of BGSP in 2006,  she returned to her native Iran.

Dr. Gohar Homayounpour, is a Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst of the Freudian Group of Tehran. Lecturer at Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran. 

She recently published a book "Doing Psychoanalysis in Tehran", the MIT Press August 2012. Where she poses the question “Is psychoanalysis possible in the Islamic Republic of Iran?” In 2013, she won the NAAP Gradiva award for this publication.

Homayounpour has also been attending numerous national and international conferences, the most recent one in October 2012, a very publicized conference in Italy, Pavia on the Geographies of psychoanalysis.

This year she has also published articles in the International Journal of Psychoanalysis, the Canadian Journal of psychoanalysis, and an article in a journal coming out of the Freud Museum in Vienna.
