The One-Year Program is designed to enrich the work of those interested in understanding and working with individuals, families or groups, improving personal relationships, and enhancing their quality of life. Students are introduced to modern psychoanalytic theories and techniques in order to develop a deeper understanding of human dynamics. This introduction is enhanced through experiential learning, using real life examples and cases as a lively way to enrich the classroom experience.
Classes focus on case material and emphasize the application of a psycho-dynamically informed approach. Both experiential process and more traditional teaching methods are used to promote learning. Students progress through the program as a group.
Two consecutive classes are offered on one evening, on an every other week basis, each semester. The four classes cover the maturational process, transference and resistance, analytic listening, and countertransference. A certificate of completion is awarded at the conclusion of the program. Students may enter the program in the fall. Tuition is $1000 per semester.
